Who We Are

Every tree has a story. So do we.

Allwood Trees began with a simple vision: to grow fine-quality, ornamental trees and help people plant them with care. We opened to the public in 2009, offering delivery and planting services, and from there, we’ve grown alongside the gardens we’ve helped to create.

Today, we’re much more than a nursery. While we still grow over 15,000 trees on-site, from deciduous classics to NZ natives and evergreens, we now offer a full range of landscape architecture and horticultural services. Our experienced team, which includes a Landscape Architect and Horticulturist, works across everything from residential design to subdivisions, street tree planning/installation, and ongoing maintenance.

But at the heart of it, our philosophy has remained unchanged:
Do things properly, Grow with purpose, Plant with care.

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we work closely with our clients, listening, guiding, and shaping outdoor space that reflects both their vision and the landscape itself. Whether it’s a private garden or a large-scale development, we aim to deliver work that’s thoughtful, lasting, and full of life.

As a team, we’re always growing too, developing our skills, supporting each other, and staying grounded in sustainable practices. We believe in nurturing not just plants, but people and places.
