Nothofagus solandri - Black Beech
Description
Evergreen. NZ native. Hardy. Quite fast growing in moist conditions. Small, dark green leaves densely packed in fan-like sprays. Young growth is soft and downy. Small reddish brown flowers, heavy with pollen, open in spring.
