Kalmia - Calico Bush, Mountain Laurel
Description
The flowers are, not silver, but ranging from purest white through shades of pink to deep red and crimson. These glossy-leaved shrubs produce massed displays of banded flowers in late spring through to early summer. Kalmias prefer dappled shade and acid, well drained soil, and are hardy to frost. This is a rare beauty that is well worth finding a suitable spot in the garden for. Prefers sheltered position. Sun or semi-shade. Bushy growth habit. Hardy.
