Mark Hutching
Managing Director
Mark has a great passion for growing trees and is able to translate that into excellent customer service.
He is eager to share his vast knowledge, especially when it comes to deciduous trees.

Helen Hutching
Administration Manager
Helen our administration manager takes care of the majority of the paperwork. When the need arises Helen assists in all areas of the nursery.
Amy Hutching
Administration Assistant
Amy is our jack of all trades. Assits Helen with the administrative tasks required but also helps outs in the day to day up keep of the nursery and any other little jobs that no body else wants to or has time to do.
Michael James
Nursery Assistant
Michael assists Mark with the general maintenance of the nursery, delivery and planting jobs and all hard and soft landscaping work as required. His happy go lucky nature makes him a great addition to our team. He is not scared of hard work.
William Reinders
Nursery Assistant
Looking after the health and wellbeing of our stock is very important to us. We ask Willaim to focus his attentions here, which is vital in looking after the care and quality of our trees and shrubs. He also helps in the retail area and has a very good knowledge and love of NZ Native trees and shrubs.
We also employ a number of part time staff to assist with the retail shop over weekends and during holiday periods. They are here to help you find the trees and shrubs that you need.
Maddy
Hospitality Officer (Peviously - Rabbit Containment Officer)
Maddy, is part of the Allwood Trees family. She is a friendly Labrador, who will greet you with a grin and a wag of her tail. She is often found lounging about on the grass, or sprawled out where ever she might be able to grab your attention.
Handy Tips!
Question: Should I use fertilizer when planting new trees?
Answer: No fertiliser or manure is to be mixed with the soil at planting, as this may cause root damage. Apply fertiliser to the soil surface and water in. Use compost instead of manure.
